What a way for the young career of Justin Hunter of the Tennessee Titans to begin, his first catch as an NFL receiver was the game winning 34 yard touchdown reception against San Diego with just 15 seconds left on the clock. Welcome to the NFL Justin, let’s hope that your career remains as successful as it started.
Week three has been a great week in the NFL and the Titans beating the Chargers was not the only result that raised an eyebrow or two!

This week started with the Thursday night game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles and the return of Andy Reid to Lincoln Financial Field. For those who listen to the podcast you will know this was a game I was really looking forward to this week, firstly to see the reaction from the Eagles fans to Andy Reid and secondly to see if the Chiefs could maintain their unbeaten run.
The Chiefs started proceedings with a field goal and quickly followed it up with an interception from Eric Berry that he returned 38 yards for a touchdown. The Eagles managed to answer back with a touchdown reception by Jason Avant, however it was a career longest run from Vick that put them in scoring position. Check out the 61 yard run by clicking the picture below:

The second quarter saw two more field goals from Kansas City and they took their ten point lead into the half. This lead proved to be enough for Kansas as despite further scoring by both teams they came out on top 26 – 16. The story hear more than Andy Reid however was the ruthless Kansas defence as they forced 5 turnovers taking their season record to 3 – 0.
The next game which was a bit of a shock for me was the Houston Texans at the Baltimore Ravens. Although he was not playing, Mr Ray Lewis was back on the Baltimore sideline as he was being inducted into the Ravens ring of honour and you could tell he was having his usual impact on the team performance.
Despite falling behind to two Houston field goals, the Ravens soon came back into it with a field goal of their own and an interception from Daryl Smith which was returned 37 yards for a touchdown. After the Texans next drive stalled they punted the ball away and Tandon Doss returned the punt 82 yards for a touchdown. The score was now 17 – 6 to the Ravens and after a quick Texans field goal the score was 17 – 9 at half time. Another upset was on the cards and the Ravens were playing like the superbowl champions they are.
The Texans scored no further points in the second half and the Baltimore Ravens closed out the game with a final score of 30 – 9. Was this just the Ray Lewis effect or will Baltimore now push on and challenge for the AFC North title?

Okay so we now move onto other stories from around the league starting with the midweek trade between the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts. This week the Browns organisation decided that they no longer needed one of their best players and traded Trent Richardson to the Colts for a first round draft pick. Like everybody else around the league you have to wonder what Cleveland are thinking, if you want to build a winning franchise you do not trade away your best players!
This weekend was also the last game in a while for Aldon Smith of the San Francisco 49ers as he will be taking an indefinite leave of absence and admitting himself to rehab following an arrest on DUI charges.
To get things back on a positive note let's take a look at the top 5 catches from this week by clicking on the picture below:
This week there will be no awards given out on the blog but if you would like to know my selections for the 'Megatron' and 'Mr Ray Lewis' awards then check out our podcast 'Spitball' which will be uploaded later in the week.
Instead of the awards I will be giving my 'Swing' of the week. Those familiar with the podcast will know what this means but for those who do not, this is the percentage difference I feel there will be between two teams in this upcoming week of games.

After my complete disaster last week saying the Vikings would have a 70% to 30% swing over the Browns, I am tempted to play it safe this week. In fact I will be going reasonably safe by saying that the Chicago Bears will have a 60% to 40% 'Swing' over the Lions this week and will move onto a 4 – 0 record.
Okay so that is all from me this week because I felt a shorter blog was in order to balance out the monster efforts from weeks one and two, with this in mind football fans until next time stay safe and 'Thanks for Stopping By'.
